How fresh is my egg?

We all know it. We buy at the supermarket, but how fresh they really are? Sure, there are expiration dates and yes, we can rely on them mostly, but what if we throw away the packaging again? Or we buy the eggs at farmers, where don’t know the expiration date? So we want to know how fresh are our eggs.
The freshness of our eggs can be find out quite simple: it takes 100 grams of salt and 1 liter of water. Wait until the salt has dissolved and set the egg in the saline:

  • The fresh egg sinks to the bottom.
  • The about one-week-old egg floats around in the pot.
  • The about two-week-old egg floats on the surface pf the water.
